Default Custom Y Pipe Or Mandrel Bend?

my local garage told me not to let the local muffler shop make me a custom y pipe is this true? they said it wouldn't be nearly as good as the one i can buy from slp? Can it really be that different? not only that but they can turn it up a bit so that i get a little more ground clearance since i got the slp headers and that is an issue. what do you guys think

If they have mandrel bends in stock, then they can cut and weld it together to look like this.

It depends on who is doing it. Some places are better than others you just have to get a feel for the place. Some places that are known good exhuast shops have their own mandrel bender, so if they have that you probably know they do this many times and are good. Others can assemble what you bring em, but if you don't have all the parts, it'll be a problem unless they have a mandrel machine.
