Default Which rear gear ratio with a T56 in a 408 Stroker???

I am swapping out my FLT Level 5 4L60e for a T56. What gear ratio would you suggest and why with the mods I have listed in my sig. I currently have 4.10's in my Moser 12bolt but that whine a bit and was going to swap them out anyway. The car is a weekend cruiser and I hit the track a few times a year.

...if you have large diameter tires and slicks. If not, it'll just spin like crazy, and spinning isn't much fun.

My choices I was thinking about were 4.11's, 4.30's or 4.56's. I was leaning towards the 4.30's but wasn't sure which would give me the best performance. I run 27" QTP on 15" rims at the track and 275-40-17 MT Drag radials on the street.

My 4.56's, 408 and 28" tires are pretty violent.

If your running juice you will run out of gear multiple guys who can rev past 7k running out of gear in the 1/4, just consider that. Id say 3.90's. if your not planning on any juice or FI, then 4.30's would be a stellar choice

No FI or juice... I was sort of leaning towards the 4.30's as well but since I haven't had a built motor and a T-56 I wanted other peoples opion and views... I didn't want to get something and find out that it didn't work well.

If you are running N/A, 4.30's and a 28" tire will be fine, depending on shift points etc. I have been running mainly 1/8 mile, due to the distance to travel for 1/4 mile. The one time I got to the 1/4, I tapped the rev limiter twice at the top end....but....I think I short shifted that run.

Ultimately, I think 4.30's would be safe for your application.

I plan on running juice, so the 4.56's are WAY too much for me. But a fun as hell on motor.
