Default Quick info on 9 inch install(tried search, nothing came up)

Just installed a Moser 9 inch in my 2002 Z. I now find that the the driveshaft is too short. I was never told I would need a longer driveshaft for the 9inch. Any input on size, etc? thanks

Your stock driveshaft should work. If you went with the 1350 yoke, did you change the u-joint? Although the overall difference in u-joint cap thickness will only make a minute difference. Is the transmission yoke not fitting up into the trans?

The yoke is barley in the trans.... the driveshaft needs to be 1.5" longer....

My yoke doesn't fit as far up into the trans as it did stock but it's not that far off. Assuming you have your LCAs in place and they are not adjustable, put the driveshaft in and jack the rear end up to ride height and see how far off you are there. All things being equal, I would call Moser or your vendor tomorrow morning.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but if the torque arm fits where it's supposed to and the driveshaft doesn't, I'm not sure. It's kind of one of those things that just fits.

Could you snap a picture of the trans yoke installed with the weight of the vehicle on the rearend by chance?

I would imagine that you are checking it for proper fit with the rear hanging down. As has been suggested in a reply above, get the rear up to where it is loaded as when the car is on the ground, the driveshaft should then be the right length. Bob

Still appears to "hang" out farther than stock. I've been told that the amount hanging out is normal, thanks guys.
