Damn, sorry to hear about this

Your black SS was easily one of my favorite cars on this site, I was even planning on getting a set of chrome ZR1's for my black Z28 so it would look similar to your car.

My sincere condolences on this

At least you are OK...the car can be repaired/replaced. For an insurance company to call a car a total loss; the damage and repair costs need to be in the 60% range of the total value of the vehicle. (I speak from experience!) From the pics it doesnt appear that they will total it. You will have to wait and see what your company says. Each have a little different criteria for repairing vs totaling a vehicle. Good luck either way.

yeah thats too bad. my dad hit a tree with his 99 TA and it only had 21K on it, they gave him $23K pay out. bonus since he only paid like just under that amount after GM discount. the car was 2 years old only though.

anyways you could part it out and make alot of money depending on the price diff. between walking away or Xamount and the "car" back.

and, his car looked alot like yours before they started stripping off body panels and finding alot more damage. you can SEE the frame bent in one of those pics. once his total damage reached $18K, they totaled it.

but, as said already glad your ok.

That sucks man, I'm sorry to hear that. I got really lucky when I crashed my 98, it was in ok shape but not amazing, and had like 100k on it. I got lucky and the insurance claims guy who looked at it BSed with me about muscle cars. I ended up getting the extreme high end value for it, as high as any of the car guidelines would recommend for absolute perfect condition.

May the car gods be with you and help you in your time of need as well

there will not be a replacement for this car if it is totaled. i will buy it back and gut it as much as it may suck to do so. ill buy something that i wont be tempted to dump money into this time around. but honestly im just hoping they fix the car at this point. i know it will never be the same again but i love this car too much and have way too much tied up in it.

Sucks bro. But its fixable. Just keep telling them that you want it fixed. Not total it out and just send it to the crusher. Or at least get it back from them to take the parts for the next car.

I had been in a wreck about 4 years ago with my 2002 Formula , front clip damage but no frame damage. Got it fixed in about 1 month and it still drives great 4 years later. Hope yours works out that good.

1. Glad you are ok
2. Sorry to hear about it
3. If there is frame damage, I wouldn't want it back. Had frame damage to my old vert and it never was the same again. Her cherry has been popped now unfortunately.

Truly sorry though, I feel your agony

Really sorry that happened to your car. Any chance you want to talk price on those headlight shroud covers now?
