Information needed on buying a higher quality camera
I know a thread similar to this came up about a week ago but I'm in the market for a camera to take more high quality pictures with nice effects.
So far from my research, I would like a camera with:
- at least 6mp
- Price range near $400 but will consider $500-$600 range
- Shutter speed at least 1/1000
- High ISO rating
- Image stabilization
- Auto and Manual Focus
- Built in flash
I would like a camera with interchangeable lenses but they're hard to find within price range. So the camera will not be interchangeable but needs to be able to accept a polarizer.
I have considered the Sony H5 but would like more opinions/suggestions/recommendations.

I have a pocket camera that will be used as taking just quick simple pictures, but this new camera I will use to take high quality pictures much like you see in calendars and magazines. I'm just looking to cut corners in my research so any help would be appreciated.

Looks like you are wanting to get into the low level professional grade stuff. I'd look to find something used for 600ish, but that won't include any lenses. I think that'd be a better investment than a point and shoot setup for 400 brand new. I'm not a photography guy by any stretch, but I know a couple of guys who are. So, that's my regurgitated info for the day .
You will probably be disappointed after your purchase.

And yes, you are correct I am looking into the low level photography but a $600 body with no lenses is not in my price range. This is more for leisure and self enjoyment, not going to enter in any contests, poster pictures, or magazines, it's just for myself. Thanks for the help
Anyone have any recommendations?
