Default Dynoing the car soon-question about fuel

Well I'll be dynoing my 347 F1R combo very soon but I have a few questions about fuel. I plan on running the car on 94 octane pump with a dual nozzle meth setup from Alky Controls. It's been suggested that I dyno the car with some race gas in it-maybe a blend of pump and C16 for the initial dyno to keep things safe. My question is it okay to still spray meth ontop of this fuel combo? others ahve suggested 110 in the tank and meth on top. to me it kinda seems like going backwards since I built the car to run on pump and meth? Doesn't meth crank up the fuel octane up to 116 anyway? Thanks guys!

tune it with c16 and then just switch to meth. c16 is way safer to tune with, when its on a dyno people tend to go alittle nutz and its hard to feel what the car is doing..if you road tune it, its alittle safer....but watch out for the law!

I'm not sure about using the C16-If I use the C16 and no meth then i don't get the benefit of the intake temp drop-which will effect my tune in the long run.

I'd tune it with what fuel you are going to use, and yes, you can use the meth on top of it. Your tuner should be keeping an eye on spark knock, and with your combination I don't see a problem anyway. With the meth you should be able to add a lot more timing into the tune, than what you would otherwise be able to run. If you do add the timing for the meth, just make sure you don't run out of methanol. Bob

yes thats true,.. but with c16 you can give it as much timing it will take, till it doesn't make anymore power and the motor will be fine. does the intake drop with meth make it use even more timing then with c16 and make more power by adding it? at some point putting in timing doesn't add anything and i can see where meth would change that. but the temp of meth would certainly add power and safty.

Tune the car with what your gunna be using fuel wise if its pump gas and meth then use pump gas and meth. IF you want a big number pull to see how much power you can get out of it sure go for c16 + meth and crank the boost up. But for tuning the car tune it the way your gunna use it no point in tunning multiple times especially if you are paying some one.

Run the fuel you plan on running and start timing low-like 10 degree's up top.Keep an eye on A/F on each run.Get the A/F set to 11-0 -11.5-1.( no higher) then start adding 2 degree's of timing while monitering KR.When you hit 18 degree's start adding Meth and adjust A/F to the same again.
Takes time but it works.

I'd tune it for your planned fuel. C16 will kill 02 sensors pretty quick too, are you doing a SD tune?

That is correct. O2 Say by by. Tune it how you plan to run it.

I torqued the heads down to 88ft/lbs so i'm just gonna run 94 and spray lots of meth. I'm running a 8" crank pulley with a 4.13 blower pulley so that puts me at 67000 impellar rpm-still shy of the 74k redline. Should be interesting-I just wish it wasn't so damn cold up here!
