Default Wheel adapter problem

I picked up a set of hub centric 1" wheel adapters for my c5 thinspokes and when i put them on there is probably a good 1/4" of stud sticking out past the adapter. Do i have to buy shorter studs to make this work or can i cut the stock stud flush with the adapter? Has anyone else had this problem?

check to see if your rim as holes in that exact spot. 1/4" sticking out should be no problem. If your rim doesn't have holes there, then I'd take an angle grinder and cut 1/4" off the stock studs
