Cutout Questions
I'm looking forward to getting my car out of storage but want to finally start some light modding, i am short on funding so i plan on putting on an electric cutout on my 98 trans am and was wondering what size i would need and what a good relilable product would be , company and pricing information from someone that has a cut out on their car already. my car is bone stock as of now and the cutout is the only exhaust mod i am doing for now. any info woul dbe greatly appreciated.

I Believe the stock exhaust size is 2.5inch, so you'd want to get a similar sized cutout. What brand is up to you, everyone will say theirs is the best, as long as you go with a sponsor if you run into issues they are more than happy to work with you. I've got one on my H/C car, dumps before the stock TA exhaust. Sure does scare people

i also have a mccord. but they just make the electric cover. qtp actually make a cut out and the elec part. i have a simple flowtech cut out with the mccord electric stuff adn its real nice. my exhaust isnt stainless so i didnt go with a stainless cut out. if you have a stainless exhaust you would want a stainless cutout.

I'd only get stainless if I had a stainless catback. I ran my wiring through the grommet under the rear pass. seat, under the carpet, and under the console to the front of the console, and wedged the switch in at the front of the console. Some guys put the switch in the ashtray. I tried that but my ashtray wouldn't sit flush in the console after mounting the switch under it.
