Default GMPP ASA cam OK for blower?

I can get ahold of an ASA cam pretty cheap, but my future plans (well, WAY in the future) include a Procharger D1SC...would the ASA cam work OK with the blower or is it just totally wrong for that setup? I like the ASA now because I can get into it for pretty cheap with a set of LS6 springs, etc...

Here are the specs, borrowed from RSB's post
Published specs; 226/236 @ 0.050 verified installed
0.525/0.525" verified installed @ 0.308/9" actual lift
110 degrees LSA verified installed

What I measured;

Base circle 0.760"

Intake lobe centerline 108 degrees
Exhaust lobe centerline 248 degrees

Duration at 0.006", I=282, E=292

Ramp rate = 56
thanks in advance!

Your gonna want something with a 115 or higher LSA for a blowers.

110 LSA is waaay too lumpy to make any real low-end boost.

because I can get it cheap. $100 for a cam that may work vs $400 for a blower cam is a pretty good deal even without the savings in valvesprings, the only question was the "might work" part.

Why not just get the asa cam and then once you go FI, sell the asa cam and pick up an ls6 cam with some comp 918's?

I thought about that since it will be a long time before I go FI (kids and family come first) but I hate buying parts that I have to replace later. Still, I may end up replacing the entire motor before I go FI anyway...

Well if you plan on staying N/A for a while might as well go with the asa cam and springs because it sounds like your getting a sweet deal. Then when you plan to go FI you can swap it out and sell it and you should get enough back for an ls6 cam and springs. Also, if you plan on replacing the entire engine anyways then I say asa cam is an easy choice, especially for the price.

I'll give you $200 for it if you decide not to go with it. Make yourself some money.

You have no idea. Try being in hawaii where everyone thinks shipping is an assload. I've been trying to get a loudmouth for 4 months now. Just this week I had a guy think I was trying to rip him off somehow and he refunded me my paypal. He already had the money. lol

One of the perks of military life I guess.

Default Ok i know this thread my be older than some of your kids

As the tittle says …..and i dont care, yes i am the infamous one that breathes life back into dead threads……but now onto the subject of this guy wanting to run a centrifugal supercharger with his ASA cam and worried about bleeding boost…….its not gonna happen according to richard holdner you will not lose boost and the cam will work just fine…..i asked him this very exact question last night on his live feed and his exact words were it will work just fine and no it wont bleed off boost…….so if you want solid advice id say catch richard on one of his live feed you tube videos and ask him these questions before following the sheeple that have no clue of what there talking about……sure there may be better cams out there, but if you already have a performance cam then go ahead and run it!!!
