Default Sticking clutch pedal owners step inside. Interesting development..

Sticking clutch pedal on f bodies, corvettes and now solstice gxp owners...

Whats the common link between these vehicles?

http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/s...069#post450069

Now that Corvettes, F bodies and now Solstice Gxp owners are experiencing sticking clutch pedals..

Besides the jokes of they are all GM pieces of **** ...

What is the common link between all three vehicles..?

This is now happening to solstice GXP owners too. This is Solstice GXP owner saying:

My clutch pedal has been sticking part was down after shifting gears, and then "pops" back up into place a few seconds later. Anyone else having a problem? I do have an appt with dealer tomorrow, but get better info here. (Just someone please tell me it's not the driver)

heres what I know, my car was doing the same thing at 17000 miles and i replaced the master cylinder and flushed the system which fixed the problem. I later took the old master cylinder apart to see what was in side and found this black stuff that was about like a thick ink which Im postive thats what was causing the problem so I reassembled it and kept it as a spare

I've replaced the master, the slave, the clutch, the pressure plate three times...in 53K miles...

This week I'm going to try the daily draw meathod out of the master.

Some guys over at corvette forum say that works..

After that? I'll try covering the lines w/3/8th inch fuel lines and heat wrap tape... out of the master but I think I need the car up in the air so it may be a bit down the road..

Interesting that the solstice GXP stock is experiencing the same pedal issue..

Three cars..

Corvettes
F bodies
and now solstice GXP's...

Whats the common link?

Fluid type?

I had an issue with my hydraulics and replaced the master and slave and bled with a slave extension and haven't had problems since - oh, I did the drill mod, too. I used GM hydraulic clutch fluid in both cases, so I don't think the stock fluid would be an issue (at least in my case).

I do know that they did have a recall about the clutch pedal sticking to the floor and it was on 99 F-bodys

Click here for link to recall

I did the recall on the vette 2 times and its still fuc'd.

Now that its corvettes f bodies and solstices having the same ridiculous issue I am trying to figure out what the connecting link might be...

Just a bizarre scenerio...

and its annoying to have a sticking clutch pedal when your hot ******* it.

I guess I should be grateful its just occassionally but still...Its annoying cause you never know when it will rear its ugly head...

btw it can occur when just running through the mountains...high in 3 rd gear and then slowly shifting to 4th which is weird...

I don't know why or what is causing this..

Hoping the third GM vehicle line with slightly different parts might shed some light on what is causing this ....in our respective cars.

Now we have 3 lines of different GM vehicles with the same issue (sometimes)

Do all of these cars use that Nylon bearing the return spring rides in? Mine broke and is the reason my clutch pedal sometimes sticks.
