Damage to LPE TT noted when taking delivery
So I take delivery on my Lingenfelter TT and the shipper says check this out.

Looks like the lines to the turbos oil supply got knocked off. The one can be fixed with a hose clamp. The line with the blue AN fitting will need at least a helicoil. The car was driven at least short distances with it like that on and off trailer in to parking spot. My question is could my turbos be toast. I dove it the 100yards very slow so as to no spin my turbos. It is blowing a fine mist of oil as seen in these next shots

I assume it uses the engine oil in this system. Oil pressure is 55lbs at idle, but is a couple quarts low when checking. It is now full.
Since it is Sunday I can't call LPE or the dealer to find out what is up. So I am asking my forum breathern to tell me just how screwed up this is now. Hopefully some one with a LPE TT system will be able to chime in.

i'd say dont drive it!! i seized my turbo when i let it idle for 10 mins before i realized the oil wasnt being returned to the engine!! you dont want to have to play the waiting game any longer than you have to!

Like MM said, that appears to be the drain for the turbos, so unless the engine was run out of oil the turbos should be OK since they were getting oil to them..
However, if the oil drain is knocked off your engine will run out of oil in a matter of time.

As long as you still have oil pressure, there shouldn't be any damage. The line with the blue fitting goes up to the scavange pump, so it shouldn't be ran dry. Don't drive it, and call LPE tomorrow, they can ship you the parts you need. If you haven't already, contact the shipper and report a claim, hopefully the driver noted the damage on his bill of lading, since he pointed it out to you.

As said before, should be just fine as long as you didn't run out of oil. If you had, I would be more worried about the motor than the turbos. Collect a reimbursement from the shipper, get the parts you need from LPE, fix her up and have fun!

Hey,
Jeff not saying one way or another, but it looks REAL close to the same IMO. Looks like they used Earls fitting instead of the Pro light hose you have in your photo. And he didn't say you guys did the damage he said he thinks the Carrier did. So I am sure he will be contacting the person he had been dealing with at LPE for a little help on finding, replacing, repairing the damage. I believe that everything is ok with his car as long as he didn't loose oil presure also.

The thread wording is a little misleading...like it came from LPE that way which it didn't......."Damaged turbo pics inside" would have been better IMHO.
But, hopefully it gets fixed correctly/quickly. Nothing is more frustrating than a broken car.
BTW, Oetiker clamps work like a charm.

if im not mistaken in the other thread he posted that LPE didnt do the install but he purchased the kit from them and a another shop did the install, so i dont think hes blaming LPE

Sorry to LPE
The only reason I put LPE in the title was hoping that someone with the same system could come on and advise me. That was written yesterday(sunday) when contacting LPE was not an option. I did get ahold of Tim at LPE and he was very helpful in answering my questions. The initial install was done at LPE in 2001 then more mods were done last year in Miami.

So the Question of the extra line (the blue one) to the accumulator at the rear that does not match the LPE diagram has been answered.

It is an extra scavange pump. Supposedly under high boost the oil would not be pumped out of the accumulator fast enough so he added an extra pump.
