Default 402/L92/L76= what stall speed?

I have a 402 from SDPC with -14cc dished pistons, unported L92s with .650 spring upgrade and the L76 intake. The cam is going to be a custom grind similar in specs to my original choice, but with more overlap. It is going to be in the 25x/25x range with .6x/.6x lift on a wider LSA (at least 112). The car is a daily driven street car so the compression is going to stay at 10.5:1.

I currently have a 4400 stall with 2.5str. This is probably going to eliminate all hope of traction on the street. Should I downgrade to a 3000-ish sized stall? This is still the stock 4L60e. I was hoping to get a little bit more time out of it before I have to get a new one, should I downgrade stalls now or just wait for the new tranny to mess with stall speed? (I know this isn't the automatic transmission forum but I figured there would be much more knowledge in this forum than over there). Thanks
-Mitchell

man bump that compression to 11.7-12.1 , with that size cam, that thing will be a dog on the low end, you need to serious bump the dynamic compression. you make a 12.1 motor run on pump gas with that size cam, my 408 did it no problem

That stall you have is going to be even higher behind a 402. Even if you want it to stay at 4400 you are going to have to send it in to get re-stalled. If you are happy with 4400, then I would stick with it.

Well the compression is going to stay at 10.5:1. The heads have been milled and I'm running a Cometic gasket but the shortblock has -14cc dished pistons. This car is a daily driver and I don't need to squeeze every ounce of power out of it. I would like to have been at around 11:1 to 11.5:1 but the money I saved on this shortblock (discounted due to an hour or so dyno time on the rotating assembly) was enough to sway me to be happy with the 10.5:1.

So, should I go with a lower stall such as a 3200 or so, or could I just keep the 4400, set the lockup to around 15-20mph and hold on tight at WOT and switch it out with the new tranny? There is a PI Vigilante 3500 here locally for about $250...I'm definately tempted.
