Took off shock boot / cover, good or bad?

Took off shock boot / cover, good or bad? I left the covers off the front shocks on my camaro this past weekend since I was having so much problems with the strut mount while installing my Eibach springs. I don't think it makes a difference since this car isn't driven is bad weather or down rough roads. What's ya'lls opinion on leaving them off?
