Patriot stage 3 heads
anyone running the patriot stage 3 heads on a 402 or 408. i have a chance to get a set for a very good price and since i am working on a tight budget it seems like a good choice for me so i can also use my LS6 intake and ported TB. it is a daily driver and looking for around 450 rwhp. with these heads with a big cam like 24x/25x do the trick.

I say go for it its a good head for a budget builder.

That big a stick and those cubes... [Sarcasim]You won't reach it, don't even try[/Sarcasim].
Just remember to feed it alot of air-n-fuel and give it a good exhaust system!

Flow numbers are accurate. Each set comes with its own sheet. On a 4.030" bore our stage III heads will flow 312-317. On the 4.125" bore, around 320-322.

We made 535rwhp 498rwtq with a set of Patriot stage 2 ls6 heads on a 408 with a Fast 90 intake and a SMALLER cam. It had all the supporting mods too.
That was with the stage 2 heads 2.02 1.60 valves, so I definately think with the right cam choice you will be able to make some great power with Patriot heads.
I made 492rwhp with my junkyard 6.0l iron block last year with a set of Patriot stage 2 heads and the same cam as the other guys 535hp 408.
They are definately the best bang for the buck. No need to read the 40 page flame wars over all the other brands. There once was posting wars over quality, but time showed that other much expensive brands that were considered higher quality have had the same issues too.
Gunnar is one of those guys that never says "No" if you call and need help. So I think that you will be satisfied.
Besides, for $1200 or so, you cant go wrong, and for the price of some other heads, you could get a set of patriots and a fast intake.

a 408 should do it with a plug wire off.
With patriot stage II's that were hand finished on stock cubes with a 232/238 595/605 cam I made 465 RWHP SAE and 412 RWTQ. supporting bolt-ons were stepped headers FAST 90/90, Mufflex system and a tune. Hell, and that was through a 12-bolt and big 18" rims/tires.
