Default Backfire?

My car seems to be backfiring often. (I'm not running any nitrous) Whenever i go WOT or give the car some extra gas whenever i let off i can hear slight backfires. When i go WOT i can hear a loud backfire when the car changes gear, also. (A4) the 2-3 shift. Any heads-up on why this could be happening?

Thanks guys.

sounds like you have a bad plug or a bad o2 sensor

I was having backfiring problems recently. I changed my plugs and my fuel filter and seafoamed the fuel tank. Now I have no backfiring at all.

just bolt-ons, i'm going to be changing the plugs. I also think it could be my O2's or the wires anyway. I only have them cut rigged and wrapped in electical tape, i'm getting o2 extensions.

Check your coil connections and plug connections, I had the same problem.
