Default H Pipe Or x crossover

Looking for opinions for my exhaust. I have a 55 checy with a LS1 auto. I 'm running S & P headers and was wondering what was the best way to connect the two sides a H pipe or a X pipe? Also any recomendations on mufflers?

thanks
Mike

X pipe will give you more top end and a h pipe will give more low end and a little deeper sound. So it really depends on how you want to drive it.

I was told by a "pro exaust tech" that to determine the best place to put a H-pipe or X-pipe was to draw a line with a color or with paint, and where ever it got the hottest and melted first that is where you want the H or the X.Just what I have heard
