thick gaskets
hi i'm pretty new to the LS1 world and was thinking of running low boost on my motor (8 psi max). i don't want to get crazy with my car and dump a ton of money into it, so i was thinking of just using thicker head gaskets. how much would it lower compression? would it be safe up to 8 psi? what kind of modifications to valvetrain does it require to keep everything in check? any help would be appreciated thanks.

I wouldnt use thicker head gaskets as a way of lowering compression.....
Stick with less then 8 psi on a stock motor and if it has ALOT of miles id do less then that and always save for a new motor sooner or later.... and FI is hard on a motor.
The smartest thing you can do is price everything you will need out on paper to see the total 1st and then sit back... FI isnt cheap at all.
Fuel parts, Tuning/Tuner, Kit itself, gauges , drivetrain and tires
Your new found power is going to be very hard on those last 2.
