Help Picking Tires
It is time for new rear tires. My fronts still have lots of life left on them, but my rears are almost gone. I have been running the Nitto 555r's for the last couple of years and love them for the street.
My question is, should I just get a new pair of these or should I try the 555r II's cause of the stiffer sidewall? (they are a smaller size 275 instead of 315.) I will be doing the driving school in April and possibly going back for a few lapping days later in the year? How much will having the 555r's hurt my cornering? Or should I not even be worring about it?
I don't have a set of slicks for drag racing either and these would be my DD tires.
Thanks for your help guys.

I would do the 555R IIs... they seem to work well for both drag racing and road racing applications, and it really is the best of both worlds when it comes to that type of tire.

They only make the RII in a 275/40/zr17.
I'm going to get the RII's next time around so I don't have to worry about cornering. I know a couple times I almost rolled the tire over to the rim lip in a corner. I wouldn't use the R's on a road coarse. Hell, I might throw them on all 4 corners.
