Bad just got worse, a lady pulled out in front of him he laid the bike down but was still hit in the face with NO helmet on and then drug for 30 feet, as it looks now he might have lost an eye and his face may need to be reconstructed...

I thought he was wearing a helmet???

Anyway, wear a helmet, he's lucky he's not dead...

I've never hit anything but the ground...or a curb...or a deer...And that's not fun...

Can't imagine what it's like to hit a car

Damn. I'm hoping for the best. Keep us informed.

A quick note to those that are new to riding or want to start. Learning to ride comes natural. The real challenge is learning how to ride and act in traffic and what to watch out for. Make that your priority.

Prayers for your friend.

wow dude that's pretty extreme, i was at hooters the other day and while sitting outside next to where all the harleys park these two bikers went out to their bikes getting ready to leave, and i watched them spend literally TEN minutes tying their helmets to the back seat area so they would not fall off, TEN minutes they spent doing that, i don't understand why they didn't just put the damn things on...

i plan on getting a bike some day, and i can gaurantee that helmet will always be on my head

Helmet isn't enough. Get some gear. Gloves (hands usually hit first), jacket, boots that cover ankle (you'll be surprised how quick your ankle can snap going down).

Yes, I've been down more times than I can remember. :judge:

well ya, i forgot to mention that stuff, but yes i will get all that crap.

actually, a buddy of mine was cruising home from work like 3 nights ago on his 06 r6 and got t-boned at 45-50mph by a drunk driver, he somehow managed to keep the bike up, and only broke his foot in 3 places, i have no idea how the hell he kept that bike up, but he got off pretty damn good if you ask me.

Sounds like he did well on that one. Glad thats the worst of it. Its the idiots you have to watch for. Glad you're being smart about it. I see less and less wearing gear these days, and I cringe everytime I see one knowing its only a matter of time.

It took me a long time to find a jacket that would fit me, but i made sure I had it before I even dreamed of taking delivery of the bike...

I know every time I went down, i always rolled over and hit right on my right shoulder/back, and rode it out on the ground hoping not to hit anything big...

Best wishes to him and God bless.

I never get on my YZF600R without full gear (helmet, A* jacket, gloves, boots, long pants), and I will use this as justification for my road paranoia when I'm riding. Gotta watch out for the other guys or your life can change real quick...
