Default '88 Firebird, LS2 dyno vid!

Here are some vids of my car on a dynojet. It's an '88 with an LS2, MTI stealth cam and Stage 2E ported heads, long tubes, 90mm throttle body and FAST intake, custom cold air intake, 3in exhaust with 2 Random Tech cats, Hooker muffler and dyno tuned.

On a Mustang dyno it made 365hp and 361 torque.
On the Dynojet it made 409hp and 402 torque.

My goal was 420hp at the wheels, so I'll have to find a few more ponies, but I'm going to keep it naturally aspirated.

Thats awesome. I had a 92 that I had to get rid of. I wish I had the time to do a transplant like you did.....

I almost forgot, I had the car at the Southern Trans Am Regional car show and an editor from High Performance Pontiac was there. Now I'm going to have a photo shoot this weekend for a feature article!

It might rain though, but I'm hoping I'll get a few good pics first.

That's awesome man. Your car is really clean and mean. I am the one that bought your spohn cross member and torque arm off of ebay. What route did you go for that stuff? I'm glad to see you are putting out a good amount of horses and torque it's not hard to find more power in these motors. Good luck with the photo shoot, it would be great to be able to put some magazine articles in the window at car shows.

I ended up using BMR's track kit for the torque arm. It's a strong piece, but it's cross arm hangs pretty low; that and my cats drag every now and then.

I love the Formula hood too!

Looks great. The wheels fit the wheelwell nicely!

Incredible installation!

What fuel pressure are you seeing at the top of the runs? Thought I heard a little popping or misfire, just before you let off.

Sounds good. Maybe ud pulley, port the FAST intake or electric water pump for a few more.

I believe the popping sound was the rev limiter. I haven't had that problem on the street.

Thanks for the ideas. Porting the intake should be good for a few more and not too hard to do.

Man I love that car... Makes me want to do mine over again... I hope I see 400+ when I get tuned/dynoed. That'd be nice. I figure Ill be happy for awhile as long as I peak 400. Havent looked into if its possible with my engine combo yet...figured Ide just wait to see what the tuner tells me.

I cant wait to see some on street vids of that car! **Hint hint**

Thanks; maybe I'll get a street vid one of these days, lol. Your mods are similar to mine, so it should make some power with a good tune.

I don't remember what master/slave are in it. If I can find the receipt then I'll post it.

The headers are from Hawks. The rest of the exhaust has a custom y-pipe with dual Random Tech cats and a 3" I-pipe to a Hooker Aerochamber mufler.

I missed the post by BlueOvalEater; I have a Moser Ford-9, have there been problems with that?
