Generation III Internal Engine - question on Yella Terra Ultra Lights

I'm going to be installing these beauties tomorrow after I change a few things on the engine that's going on today. the question I had was there are 2 little drill starts in each shaft between the rocker arms. I read thru the Yella Terra instructions and I read the instructions on ls1howto but no info on this...what are those to marks for? Is that a mark showing which way it needs to be installed (facing up or down)?
Hope someone has the answer before tomorrow morning, thanks guys.

no one? I don't even know if it means anything, I just want to make sure before I install...I've got a few more hours before I install so I'll check back before then.

I checked mine after reading your post, and have the same thing. I can't see that they'd serve any functional purpose as it pertains to installation or operation. My guess would be that they were machined like that perhaps to allow a tool to hold the shaft while assembling the pairs of rockers during manufacture?
They can only be installed with those divets up or down so it's a 50/50 proposition. My plan is to pick one (probably up) and do all 8 pairs the same...
Good Luck with it!!!

Hi Guys,
The markings you are seeing are internal manufacturing identification marks and serve no functional purpose. Some engine builders use the id marking upon installation as a reference and rotate the shafts occasionally to even wear under extreme conditions.
Hope it clears the confusion....we'll be posting something up on the webpage becuase it is a common question....
