Oil light problem.. anyone have an idea?
Well i am having an oil light problem in my camaro.. the problem was the positive side of the oil level sensor got ripped out and was out for a little while... but when it was put back in it still stayed on.. the voltage was tested on the wire and i guess its supposed to have 12V and only had 4V? Did i short out that whole circuit or wire in the harness?
what should i do to fix it? pull the bulb out and ignore it? or try to run a 12V source to the wires?
If anyone has some simple ideas for it.. let me know! Thanks guys

Did you replace the sensor? Helms says to check circuit with a scan tool first, then pull the C1 PCM connector and probe the signal circuit of the oil level switch to B+, test switch ground circuit at the connector for open or high resistance, etc. Have you been driving the car? After the light comes on it won't go off until the PCM sees 194* ECT and the ignition is turned off for a minimum of one hour, then rechecks on the next cycle. If you haven't replaced the sensor I'd do that first if there isn't an obvious wiring/connector problem near the sensor. Hope this helps...
