The LT1 That Could

I will be installing a converter in the LT1 someday soon, and having a buddy do the tune. He has quite a bit of experience in tuning, but has done all M6 cars. What specifically is edited when tuning for a converter, so that it does not freak out the shift solenoids? (like on my last toasted tranny)
