TEA Time - Dyno Results with TEA 5.3 Stage II's and 224 XE-R cam
See sig for all the mod's etc please.
418rwhp & 404 rwtq
I think there was a little more but the clutch started stinking pretty bad on the next pull and hp dropped a few ponies.
If someone can host I can provide the graph.
There are several questions, I'd like to ask about the graph.
Comments please

Re: TEA Time - Dyno Results with TEA 5.3 Stage II's and 224 XE-R cam
I've got a similar set up. I went from 386 rwhp/379 rwt with stock heads, TR 224 cam, 3.73s, and 275-40-17s to 427 rwhp/407 rwt after adding TEA STG 2 5.3 heads AND 4.10s and 315-35-17s. Although I don't have the graph in front of me, the car beaks 350 rwt at around 2500 rpm and stays over it until 6200 rpm. Looking to get some track times this Spring.
Now if they would only give me my core credit back...

Re: TEA Time - Dyno Results with TEA 5.3 Stage II's and 224 XE-R cam
you guys are startin' to make me sick. i couldn't get mine over 390 rwhp w/ my stage II heads and 224 cam. it seems everyone that installs these are gettin' over 400rwhp. my car is an '02 ws6, m6, w/ flp's through cats, corsa cat-back, SLP lid w/ filter. what am i doing wrong??? i know i have to get the a/f ratio done, but it does have a baseline tune in it. someone help me!

How do I post the graph? I have it scanned and ready to go.
H82BBad,
How do I post the graph? I have it scanned but didn't see instructions in the FAQ list of how to post it.
My orginal numbers for heads and cam were on a different dyno. The "new" results are on the dyno the car baselined on with minor bolt on's. With lid, SLP Y pipe, CAI, dual/dual, SLP MAF, TR-55's the car base lined:323rwhp & 335rwtq
Anyone willing to host if I email you the graph?
SShady
Sounds like you got excellent results! With a new clutch sometime in the spring, I hope my numbers will come up a little. For the $200 core, I decided I'd keep my LS1 heads, maybe for another project sometime...
John B,
What sort of better exhaust do you think I should consider? I'm open to suggestions. The Hooker LT's are 1 3/4 primaries, the Mufflex Y is 3inch into a 3.5 inch merge into a 4 inch necked to 3 inch dumping into a 3 inch cut out. The SLP D/D helps keep the noise in check when the cops are around.

I'm looking forward to doing exactly that

My compression is right at 11 to 1 according to TEA and SRP. The car has no ping and timing is good. Showed 26 degrees with .3 retard. I think the .3 is due to the noise from the valve train. I'm adding restrictor plates to the air checks to see if I can reduce some of the clatter a little.

Thanks! I'll looking forward to showing the graph if I can find out how to do that. The driveability is really surprising. I've got a 72 Vette with a smaller cam that's way nasty to drive. I'm stunned by what good tuning and careful part selection can do. The fun to drive factor is way more than before!

While I'm no expert post or send me an email and I'll give my .02 worth. I would check basics like make sure the air filter is clean, new fuel filter, clean the injectors, make sure the tires have the correct inflation, fresh oil these little things can add up.
Let us know all the mod's etc, we might be able to help. My car would be WAY DOWN probably like 375 or worse but SRP caught and correct several problems before the install. Any sort of header lean will play havoc with the O2's and screw up the A/F etc.

oh BTW, i forgot to mention that the car is brand new. it had like 1,100 miles on it when i went to the dyno w/ my new head and cam set-up. so things like fresh oil, tire pressure, etc. were all good...

I've often wondered if the PCM pulls timing or something until the car has had a chance to wear in a little.

Most excellent! Those are great #'s for RWHP and the torque is just flat awesome! I'm glad to see the 5.3L heads from TEA post that much gusto! Congrats!
