Default I think I got old lifters in a new LS7 lifter box

Ok, I opened my box that supposedly had the new LS7 lifters in it. Part number 12499225 on the outside, which is correct. I pulled one of the lifters out to look at it, and I was going to soak them in oil for a few days before installing them in my new engine. I compared it to an old lifter I pulled out of my old 99 LS1, and they are IDENTICAL. I looked at the box again, and found a different part number. The lifters came in a brown cardboard box, and inside that cardboard box were 2 8 packs of lifters in AC Delco packaging. The brown box had the correct LS7 number 12499225, the white AC boxes had that different number, 17122490. Did I get screwed and get the old lifters in a new box?

Are your old lifters stock? '99 lifters, if I'm not mistaken, were not fully encapsulated like the '01-up lifters. That should be one give away.

One part number is the set (16 lifters) and one is for the individual lifter (single lifter).

Haha hey Bob! Good to see a CF buddy on here. Nope, dampener hasn't come yet, I still don't have an engine to put it on even if it did!

Thank's for clearing the part number thing up guys, I appreciate it! (feel alot better too!!)

Hey Roman. What part numbers were on them? Pretty much every GM part I have ever purchased has came in an AC Delco box, that's not what worries me.

It's 17122490

Does AC Delco make them for GM? I don't think they do. Point is I was expecting "true" gm part...i guess it is not a big deal tho!

Is this the correct number, 88958689, as the other number is a rediesigned number, not the super ceramic internal lighteight version, which is around 250 dollars. Ouch, and do these work in the LT1/4 engines?
