dipstick on aftermarket pan ?

Default dipstick on aftermarket pan ?

what are you guys using to add a dipstick to an aftermarket pan. does someone make dipstick-tube receiver adaptor that i could bolt on to the pan. i've got an autokraft pan.

I'm using the stock dipstick with my autokraft pan.

It doesn't mount to the pan--it goes through a hole in the block next to the starter. In the picture below, I have a black plastic plug stuck in the hole.

That's where mine is moutned as well. I have an LS1 and I'm using a 5.3 truck oil pan - so I also got the truck dipstick


I'd start by measuring the depth diff'ces of your aftermarket pan versus the stock pan. If there's that much difference, I'd think you may have other things to worry about ... like ... whether your oil pickup tube is going to actually pick up oil to keep things primed inside your block.

i have a 5.3 from a 04 buick rainer. it has a front sump. the oem dipstick is mounted to the side of the oil pan. i have the hole in the back of the block like rodder, but with my autokraft pan installed, the hole is outside of the oilpan lip. i'll have to find a different solution than what you guys use.

took anonther look this weekend & found the tab on the block where the dipstick should mount. drilled a hole in it & all is well.

gday,doing a ls1 swap here in Australia,using Autokraft pan.all aussie ls1's have dip stick into the side of sump,looking for part number to install into block.motor has a hole with plug along the side,guessing this is correct spot?cheers Buzz
