4l60e...stock 99 flywheel...750+ hp... besides maybe getting a sfi flywheel, is there something else i can do? A blanket may save me from a tranny explosion..but does nothing to stop a spiing broken flywheel..is there something out there to stop taht sucker from taking a chop at my legs if she breaks loose?

How about you ditch the flywheel idea because Automatics don't have one?
Seriously though, the flexplate is bolted to both the engine and the torque converter. Somehow I think the chances of somehow managing to break every bolt in there, and come flying up at your legs is less than being hit by a train.
But anyway...maybe some reinforcement in the tunnel so it stays down there?

CSR actually makes a flexplate / trans shield for the 4L60e.
The part number is CSR 841, and it's the only one I've found.
