Default (Houston) Please come to my concerts!

<shameless self promotion>

As some of you may know, in addition to working on cars and computers, I'm also a trumpet player.

This Sunday (April 29th), I will be performing in three groups at the Houston-Area Community Music Festival. The performances will be at the Stafford Centre.

For information, tickets, and directions, please visit http://www.hacmf.org/

If "classical" and/or band music is something you might enjoy, please come out and support my public trumpet playing addiction.

Thanks!

Yes, but no airhorns this time. The conductor found that very distracting.

Concert band/wind ensemble stuff.

For example, with The Houston Concert Band, I will be playing:
Rose Variatons (with trumpet soloist Curt Christensen)
The Southern Cross (with trumpet soloist Curt Christensen)
Pirates of Penzance
Finale from Dvorak's New World Symphony
American Hmynsong Suite
Fanfare and Patrol (world premier)

The Lone Star Symphonic Band (of which I'm also a member) will be playing:
Armenian Dances
Ashokan Farewell (featured on Ken Burns' Civil War documentary)
Maria (featuring trombone soloist Dr. Aubrey Tucker)
Espana Cani
English Dances
Russian Fold Dances
The Gallant Seventh

The Festival Band (yep, I'm in this one too) will perform:
Circus Franticus
October
Bayou Breakdown
Simple Gifts
Flight of the Bumblebee (featuring trombone (!) soloist Dr. Aubrey Tucker)

Additionally, I will be performing in an eight part trumpet choir immediately after the Houston Concert Band performance. We will be playing Elegy for Trumpet Choir, by Eric Ewazen.

Mike,
Good luck!

Armenian Dances is one of my all time favorite Wind Ensemble pieces!

Wish I had known about this sooner!
