Default Wich chain

Ok I am going with a cc503 and having my heads ported by LE.My question is would it be safe/smart to go back with a stock style tc or the ED tc setup.I'm goint to stick with a stock style water pump.

People love to hate the stock set, but I am aware of more ED set breaking than stockers. I am aware of exactly one stock chain breaking due to no outside influence and it was recent so it was at least a decade old, could have been wear or a weak unit.

IMO a new stock chain is the way to go, might consider the Cloyes oversized crank gear if the slop in the chain bothers you.

Many people who go with EWP use a Cloyes. I did not want this so I went with an LT4 Extreme Duty timing chain. Nice and thick, good quality.

My buddy just built up a 350 chevy gen 1. He used a double roller timing chain from autozone and it was like $30. I saw no problem with it working on our cars , it was made by a company in northern IL. We will see if it holds up
