How to disconnect auto headlight sensor????

Default How to disconnect auto headlight sensor????

I see the sensor in my defroster right next to my alarm led. But how do you get to it? I know i need to connect the two wires that go into the sensor and all but how do i reach the sensor without breaking anyhting. Thanks guys.

It's really easy. You need to lift up the upper dash panel. In order to do that you have to remove the two A pillar trim pieces (next to the windshield). If you have t-tops, remove them and then take out the two screws at the top of the trim panel, then they just pull off. If you don't have t-tops then the trim panels just snap off. Once you've removed the trim, the dash panel just lifts up. It's held in place by a combination of snaps and velcro fasteners. Be very careful - the edges are sharp! (don't ask me how I know that )

Once you've lifted up the dash panel you don't even have to remove the sensor. Just use a scotchlock crimp-on connector over the two sensor wires to connect them together.
