Default 1976 amc gremlin ??

has anyone ever done an ls1 swap into one...any idea on the difficulty?

It seems you would need some firewall modification but...no buts... that would be so bad *** it’s not even funny!

I've considered the grmelin or a ramber american to build a sleeper ou of. I'm thinking more towards the american though because of the nostalgia end of it.... imagine the face of the Cobra driver when a rambler waxes him from light to light!!

I know for a fact that the AMC V8 fits just fine in the AMC Gremlin (which was available in factory displacements to 401ci). I believe they were even available with the 304 V8 in addition to the old inline 6cyl.

The outside dimensions of the AMC V8 and the LS1 aren't that different. I would be willing to bet that the low mount AC compressor won't fit (but it might, you'd have to check). But most everything else should fit space-wise.
