Anyone here good with Jeeps?
Sorry this isn't an LS1 question but I couldnt figure out where else to post this...
I'm getting really pissed off at mine. 6 months ago I had an intermittent low RPM (1500-2000) stumble. Did plugs, wires, cap, rotor and the problem was solved, the old distributor cap was kinda nasty and worn underneath, so it ran like a champ with a new one on there. The other day it started acting stupid again, and since I had a warranty on the wires I changed them again, and switched my spark plugs to a different kind. Nothing. Tonight I pulled the cap and rotor off, and they both had some corrosion so I ran to Murrays (gotta love 24 hour parts stores) and replaced them both. Still missing. Any ideas? When I pulled the plugs they still looked pretty new, too new almost. They should be golden brownish but these were still pretty white. What would you guys check next? It's a 99 with a 4.0, about 112K on it which for a 4.0 is nothing. I have noticed if I pop it in neutral it revs fine, but when I am in gear it accelerates goofy and jumps until I get above 2 grand, then it is fine. Then since I cruise about 1700-1800 @ 45 mph, it bucks and acts stupid there sometimes too.

Not sure if this is your problem but there have been issues with the jeeps and the injectors and intake valves. The recommendation is to do the top end cleaner/injector cleaner. On your engine with that many miles probably a good idea anyway so I would give it a try.

I didn't see any vacuum leaks, and I am dreading the fuel filter as I have to drop the tank to replace it. Chrysler did some really stupid things when they redid the cherokee in the late 90's.
