NEED CAM HELP!!! LQ9, L92, Mahle pistons
Hey guys, I know that this is a shot in the dark but I need to try and get some advise on where to go from here. I am about to start building a LQ9 for a project. I will be running a 4.010 bore along with Mahle pistons #LS1340010F04, this is for a stock 6.098 rod and 3.622 stroke. The pistons have -4cc valve reliefs. I will be running a set of L92 heads with all stock hardware with exception of better springs and with 64cc combustion chambers, I believe to get this will require 0.030 milled off the heads. I plan on using a 0.051 thick head gasket Now for the million dollar question, does anyone here have any ideas as to what cam I should go with or even what will fit? I have been crunching numbers all week trying to figure this out before I start ordering parts but still have not came to any conclusions. Also, what is the opinon around here on fly-cutting a set of forged pistons, I really would like to do this engine build without messing up the coating on the Mahles but if I have to I will.
ANY IDEAS?

I have the same motor and have had 5 different cams between the 6.0 and the ls1. The one I have now is the best for my set up that I have now. Its 610/630 234/243 on a 110. I have a friend who says gbx4 is the best.

I called Cammotion and they recommended one for me which seemed pretty mild, but from what I've heard, they know their stuff and it will probably be the one that I go with. I'm actually planning to build one almost exactly like yours but with .030" over. Maybe give them a call or Patrick G at TR and see what they recommend. Mine was 230/234 with .605/.595 on a 112 in case you were wondering.
