your lt1 does not have a clutch fan...you have electric fans.....reving does not help, your thermostat is probably sticking

mine did that 2, mines a 96 and i know the stock fans kick on really late, i switched to a 160 termostat and a manuel fan switch. now it runs at 170 on the highway. dunno about your problem thoguh could be the same thing.

stock programming turns the fans on at 210 degreese unless your ac is on then it will kick the fans on around 180.... pull out your t stat and check that out! also moniter your radiator fluid. park it on dry pavement and make sure you have no leaks. if you dont have leaks but your water level in the radiator is going down still it is probably a head gasket.

i highly doubt the fans are bad, as the merv stated above check and make sure there is no air in the system. A little bit of air can trick the temp sensor and nut turn the fans on. If it was mine i would start with the t stat.

#1 Reving the car while at a stop DOES help. One would ask why? Well simple. IT TURNS YOUR WATER PUMP MORE!

#2 Running straight coolant isn't good in the summer. Running straight water is better. The reason for 50/50 is because most don't want to flush their system to make it better for the winter/summer seasons. So 50/50 is a "happy medium".

#3 Which doesn't pertain to the problem, how can you not tell you're typing in all caps? lol (I won't touch the caps of every word part)

No, but he also DIDN'T say it. "Its Full Of Antifreeze". He thought he had a clutch fan, and you wouldn't believe how many people think they can just dump in antifreeze and go and have it be hunky dorey.

if your t stat is stuck it dont matter how fast the water pump is spinning and more then likely it has no water to move at all

if anything it creates more friction and get hotter

yes you need to run 50% water and 50$ antifreeze, and then bleed the air out with the screws.

It's good to mix it to 50/50 ratio(Antifreeze and water), or get the 50/50..

You're right, but I was 95% sure that the TStat being stuck wasn't the case. Just from reading what he had previously said. Not saying it can't be the case most of the time, just this instance.

That Guy, running 100% coolant is not very good idea. Does it work? Sure, just not as intended. Would I do it? Only in a pinch. Water in the overflow isn't nearly enough for the system, not only that but it won't even get mixed in since very little coolant is exchanged into the reservoir under normal operation.

From the new information given to us, I would definitely have to go with air being in your system. ESPECIALLY if it was you or your uncle who installed the hoses (No offense to either of you).

Most of the info you need isn't JUST LTx or LSx based, it's general information. Getting a thick book on LT1s and the "God Manual" for the 4th gen Firebird wouldn't be a bad idea. Reading it would be a better idea, but would take you a very long time lol
