lt1 brake upgrade question i have this in the brake forum with no responses. it is lt1 specific so it should be able to go in here.
I am looking to upgrade my 94 formys brakes to ls1 style. Do i have to get brakes from a ls1 or will a 99 v6 work? junkyard has one and I am contemplating getting the brakes. are the ls1 rear brakes better at all?

what all do I need for the swap. anyone have pics of whats needed?
calipers, rotors, lines???,spindle....anything else
whats a good price for all he parts and how big are the rotors compared to the lt1's

You could replace your LT1 front calipers and spindles for LS1 units (that's what must be done) or simply upgreade to ceramic pads all around - much less difficult, with the same results.

Yea they are! $100 more for dual piston Vette kit O_O
If you ever need to do rotors and pistons it's almost better to just buy one of those kits. If you have to do spindles, then it's a no brainer!

is 250 a good price for the entire upgrade from a junkyard. I can get the rotors for 25 each the calipers for 25 each and the spindles for 75 each. is that a good deal

For $200 I was able to get complete front and rear set up. Yes the rear does make a differance. The best part of the LS1 rears is the E-Brake will hold the car along with them being a little lighter. The LS1 fronts are a LOT lighter being a Alumn. caliper with almost 3"sq of swept braking surface. Found it to be much better the ANY LT1 combo I have used.
