Default Ls6 swap

I'm gonna install my ls6 manifold in a bit but I wondering if I need to leave those sponges attached? I never heard anything about that.

If I am not mistaken, those sponges go on top of the knock sensors and help to protect from jolting or knocking them out place when you put the intake on. I could be wrong, but, I installed the LS6 Intake on my last year in August and I remember having the same question. Hope this helps!

I think they actually just keep air and dirt, and sometimes water off the valley cover to prevent it from getting to the knock sensors. If you don't put them back in with the intake then I highly recommend using some RTV on the little black caps above the knock sensors to seal them from water.
