V6 to Ls1
My father has a 3.8L T5 1998 firebird and has purchased a 1998 camaro for the Ls1 and T6. I have many questions for what needs to be done to change the V6 to the V8 and was hoping some of you guys could let me know.

The 1998 stuff will be pretty much interchangeable with itself. Some of the Wiring may be different.
The easiest way to do the Engine swap is to unbolt the K-member and unbolt the upper Strut Towers, and swap them directly out. That way you have the K-member, the Steering, and you won't have to **** with lifting an Engine, and swapping the Steering Racks, which is also required.

If you change the underhood wiring harness to an LS1 harness you will have to change the dash harness to the LS1 harness. Will the rest of the V6 harnesses from the car plug into the LS1 underhood and dash harness?? I know that if you change enough of the harnesses in the car it will eventually become plug and play but how many does it take. I have not done a 4th gen camaro LS1 swap, but from everything I have read it does not appear to be a direct plug and play swap. If you have done it I would appreciate a list of which harnesses you have to change to make it a plug and play swap, although I do not have any intentions of converting a 4th gen it would be a helpful list for many members on this board.

1984camaroz28, You are right, after digging through your other posts I found a link in one of them that outlines the swap. Since notredan54 is swapping from a 98 v6 to a 98 LS1 the wiring is a direct plug in as long as he also changes the gauge cluster. As long as a camaro dash cluster will fit into a firebird dash he is good to go. Heres a link to the site in case anyone else comes looking for it. http://www.tacreationsusa.com/3_4_3_8_v6_to_ls1.htm
