Sean, can you legally ride on the road yet? Does your permit do that for you?

Please be careful,

Have fun in Ohio, tell everyone I say hello.

looks like today can be your first time on a damp surface,

it's been dry for a while,
so the roads will be extra slick with just a little water on them

I got my first bike when I was 18 or 19 and rode with just a permit for a couple years.....mostly in the rain due to Murphy's Law......and it SUCKED and the riding wasn't fun and it was VERY scary on the freeway, let alone in town. You have to remember that you have NO balance offered to you by the bike, just the centrifgul force of the wheels spinning that keep it upright......which can get all screwed to hell when it is wet and slick (oily) out there.

Listen to your Dad and the rest of us who have been there and done that.....be SUPER careful, enjoy yourself and remember, if you don't HAVE to ride in the rain and you have other (4 wheeled) transportation, I would use that until you become a very experienced rider.

Just my humble $.02

I still have the mustang for the rain... Just got back from Ohio yesterday and rode the bike to work today. Im going to buy some boots this friday when I get paid...

I dropped it in the gravel this morning going 2mph in my driveway... Gravel ******* sucks... No real damage except for my ego. Just a few little scratches that will buff out...

At least it will save some gas money! I ride my bike a lot more now, and just picked up a used Cannondale ATB from a buddy who's getting out. That will save even more. $51 to fill up the Z now is total bullshit.
