Need opinions on what cam to run now! Torquer 2 dosent cut it anymore
All right I have the Torquer 2 from TSP and I do like the cam but I want more. So I drove a buddy of mines SS that had the G5X3. 234/242 112+4 XE-R lobes. Livernois stage 2 ported LS6 heads milled .030". LS6 intake. Stock shorblock with pistons flycut, and the damn thing drove better than my car does and is much much stronger running than mine. I was wanting to know what other cams you all could recommend for me that would have great driveability and still run like no other on top end. one more thing both car where tuned by the same guy so that would have nothing to do with the driveability part

From what I've read people are liking the ms3 and ms4 better than the G5x3's, I havent driven both so I can't tell you, but my car is currently under the knife, prc ls6 cnc ported heads from tsp, ms3, ls6 intake, and kooks LT's, with the stock set up it dyno'd 305 to the wheels with 87k miles, and just an hour or so ago in the teardown I found 7 bend pushrods =( So I'm hoping for this thing to really come alive tomorrow. Then again I prob wont get it dyno tuned tomorrow =P Anyways, my buddy has an 02 ss that we're throwing a torquer 2 in next week, so we'll be able to compair the cam only to heads cam combo, he's got a few more bolt ons, but the ms3 is bigger, and you can't beat the price of these heads on Tsp.

If you look at the valve events, I'd say there's no way you'll be happy with an MS3. It's designed for great top end, but hardly any bottom end. We just had a local make like 430rwhp on a dyno with his MS3, but the torque was only like 360 or something bad. It's a top-end cam. Not what you're wanting. Not to mention, I still pull as hard as his up top
Keep looking man. Most love the F-cams by Futral, and the G5X2 and X3 around here. Our climate agrees well with these cams. Very well. Many X2 and F-cam cars have run into the 11's on cam only in our area.

I think that you'll be happy with the MS3. As long as everything is a well thought out combitnation, you won't be disappointed! This is also a sweet cam to run the bottle on. Some people go other routes; but in my opinion it is a lethal combinaition. Not to mention with a set of killer heads. Not saying that's what I run or anything!

there's no way to look at the value events and say the ms3 is a good choice when you are wanting a broad powerband that still has good top end. do the smart thing and call your tuner to see what he likes.

I'm not that impressed by the G5X4. I mean, yeah it's a killer cam, but if you're going BIG STICK, there's only one answer: Trex.
Well, actually that, or ask Futral to custom spec one since their lobes are so killer.
The G5X4 is a 240/244 111+3 on XE-R lobes, just so you know. If you get on KYHP, send a PM to a guy named "slowest". He's had both the Trex and the X4, and he'll give you an honest opinion. Just remember that those are big ole cams. You'll be back to the state of being harder to tune and more likelihood of bucking and surging.
Bro, most of the locals who have had both the X2 and X3 actually swear by the X2. AP, one of the best 6-speed tuners you'll ever meet, swears by the X2 over the X3. Hit him up too.

You sound like your a salesman , but yeah I was just looking at what other cams they had to offer, and I messaged both of those people so I will see what they say. Sorry for being hard headed I just don't want to have to change another cam again!
Thanks, Joe
