LSX 454 How dose this combo sound to you?
I'm currently waiting for a quote on a LSX 454 block with the diamond racing pistons -3.8 cc, callies crank, callies compstar rods.
I have a 99 Trans am 6 speed.
I plan on bolting on a pair of Patriot LQ9 stage 3 heads #2019;
Blower cam, comp cams .595 int .608 exh duration @ .006 281 int 289 exh duration @ .050 232 int 240 exh lobe lift .3500 int .3580 exh lobe sep 115
ls6 intake
ford 42 lbs injectors
polished & bored throttle body
hooker full headers & offroad y pipe with magnaflow cat back
slp intake lid with K&n
some sort of nasty performance fuel system
Hartland sharp roller rockers
hardened push rods
comp cams lifters
dbl roller timing chain
ported oil pump
I was wondering what this would put out for power at the flywheel? Can you give me a rough estimate?
In a year or two I plan on installing a procharger on it.
When Gm performance part comes out with the 6 bolt Ls7 style heads I am going to go with them along with the Ls7 style intake & 90mm throttlebody.
Is there anything you guys would do different? or anything that just dosen't sound like it will work good together?
I'm open to any words of wisdom you would be willing to share!
Will the 42 lbs injectors be able to keep up with the naturally aspirated engine?
Thank you for your time I look forward to seeing you responses!

LS6 intake is goin to be a big restriction. that engine is goin to suck down some air n/a

And the 6 bolts per cylinder thing, it doesn't matter on a 100% N/A engine.

As far as the combo your doing. I don't like it at all. Spending that much coin on a killer bottom end to do a avarage top end do not make much since. Why not do a ETP LS7 head and a LS7 intake manifold now and save the time and money doing things twice?
Also if you plan on adding a good FI system and making some real power then having the thicker head deck after market heads offer is great to have.
Check out our web site for ETP heads and give us a call if you have any questions. We would love to try and guide you in the right direction.
You have a great start with a beautiful block/ bottom end combo, now you just need the top end to compliment the bottom.
Its kinda like having Jennifer Lopez *** with Pam Anderson's *****. Sure having one or the other is nice, but having both is perfect.

that said.. i think youd do fine with a carb style intake. basically because with that big of a motor, the single plane wont lose as much down low but will shine where the fast falls off. the 42's should be fine as that cam is fairly mild along with the heads. its will be a nasty torque monster for sure. itll probably peak in the low 5000's from the looks of it for now.

NO WAY. 1 7/8 at least. Many would suggest even bigger like a 1 7/8 steeped to a 2".
You pretty much start all over again when you go this big of a motor. Suddenly your headers and exhaust are not big enough, your intake and TB don't flow enough, your clutch isn't strong enough, you rear end isn't big enough, etc. etc. etc.

But when he goes FI he can buy new headers.
Mine is getting 1 7/8" stepped to 2"...or true 2" custom headers.
