I would classify neither as quiet, but the LM should be quieter both inside and outside the car. FYI, I have owned neither.

I have the tsp true duals w/ dynomax bullets on my 02 SS.
My brother has the Loud mouth 1 on his 93 Z28.
Having the cars idleing side by side, the are about the same. But the true duals are louder anything above idle.

the thing about a y-pipe setup is it takes the sound waves from each of the manifolds and crashes them into one another. the actual merge at the y-pipe acts as a sound canceling device when the waves crash into each other. when using the same mufflers, the TD setup should always be louder (by that i mean true duals with bullets will be louder than a y-pipe setup with a bullet in the I-pipe and such).

even if they were the exact same decibel, i assume you will dump your TDs underneath the car, that equals LOUD inside. that is the main reason i got rid of my TDs.

I feel like the loudmouth will be louder with longtubes and no cats while it is "rasping" around 2k rpms.

I just had true duals installed on my z28 and don't think they are that loud at all. I was rather suprised. I have headers, the short magnaflow metallic cats and the short Classic Chambered mufflers with 3" pipes, all mandrel bent. I think it's because I was used to my old setup which was headers, a y-pipe, GMMG, and a cam. A CAM really does make a difference.
This car is having a cam and plenty of other stuff installed right now so I imagine it will be a bit louder than my old car when I pick it up at the end of the week from LMR

I have owned the LM1 and true duals. Duals are the louder pipes.

I had LTs with duals(x-pipe and bullet mufflers) dumped before the axle=LOUD!
Now, I have LTs with LM1=RETARDED LOUD!!!

Way louder in my setup with the LM. But, MUCH better driveability b/c the noise isnt directly under the car, bouncing off the ground back at ya.

I think the ORY and LM will be louder at peak volume or peak rpm.

But I think the TDs will be louder overall. I hope that makes sense. lol

I have ORY and LM1 on my car and I've gotten on it and my friends say they've heard be from really far away. haha They said they thought they were at Talladega or something. lol

the increased noise of the duals is more than made up for by the sweet sound. the ls1 sound is so inhibited by the y pipe setups.

Duals definately have the deeper, louder sound the majority of the time.

Yeah. I'm going duals with chambered mufflers when I get back home to Alabama.

I can't ******* wait because that Dale Earnhardt Jr. motorsports complex is being built pretty much in my backyard.

i have a pair of pacesetter long tubes and the Y with the LM2 and its pretty rediculously loud. i love it. i had a buddy switch from the same exact set up to the TSP true duals because he said with the LM2 it was just to loud for him. Im happy with how obnoxious mine is but if your looking for a quiet ride id suggest neither.

thanks alot for the info guys, i really like the sound of the LM but i dont really like tail pipes on camaros so i was wondering about the true duals but i guess it wouldnt matter when i have 11 to 1 CR and and that MS4 in my car.
