From PA, what do you guys think?
Alright guys, a friend of my father's has had a 99 Firehawk since new, used it as a semi-daily driver, and the car is far from beat up. The black paint is starting to look a little worn(not faded, just kinda thin), and it's a 6-speed with the good suspension package, dealer serviced, and 96000 miles. He's askin about $10-12 thousand. I think that's a great price, I just wanted to ask here and see what you guys thought before I go out and purchase the car. Has the non-chrome firehawk original rims, black leather interior, rest of the car(except tires...) is stock. What is the general opinion?
Thanks, Gary.
Thanks, Gary.

First off welcome to the site, if you decide to get the car youve come to the right place to learn and ask about the Hawk. Price wise, I would say that if you got it for 10K its a steal, 11K and your still doing good, 12K your not being taken but its a little high but still reasonable. I would offer him 10K then work from there. If its stock that is a great advantage, cause stock cars usually were never driven rough. https://ls1tech.com/forums/new-ls1-owners-newbie-tech/213148-jrp-s-faq-commonly-asked-questions.html check this link out also if you have any questions about the car, they will be answered here, there is a ton of info that JRP wrote up on LS1's. Where in PA are you from?? Good luck.

OK new question...
I can either have the 1999 black 6 speed Hawk, with 100k miles for $10000, or I can get a 1998 z/28 6speed dark blue with 70k miles for $8000.
Which would you choose and why?

the hawk blue books for 9,740 in excellent condiction, and 8,080 at fair condiction. with that many miles I would not even buy the car. you could get one with about 30,000-40,000 for about 13,000.
If you are going to buy either, get what you want, now because if your going to put any money in it, start with a younger car. I mean 5,000 bucks more on a car loan is only about 75-100 more bucks a month no biggie.
