Title transfer question
hopefully some of you guys that have bought and sold cars person to person can help me. I'll keep it as short as possible.
I sold my old iroc over a year ago, it was a saturday so court was closed, i had the buyer fill out the vtr form #346 (i think), i have it, but never sent it in.
The buyer never went to court to transfer the title, a short while later he sells it, which by the way is illegal since it wasnt under his name.
Some time later i get tickets in the mail from the toll both authority, and i send them proof telling them the car is no longer mine, but they wont accept it and now they want to take legal action against me.
Well the **** head i sold the car to doesnt have the title, so we cant just go to court and transfer it, and the person who has the title now is in college station. The annex court house said i can have him fill out some forms but i will be responsible for paying the fees and taxes for him, **** THAT! **** HIM!
anyone know what or where i should go from here?
....besides shooting him or setting house on fire, or blowing up the car!
thanks!

its like a 5 dollar fee to have this "clause" added to the states records.

report it stolen a year later? he will still be liable for the tickets and what not.
best thing is to get a lawyer
you didnt sign/date the title when you signed it over to the dumbass who re-sold it?
that might be a lil relief on your case...

yes i did sign it over and date it, and i did fill out the form sroach is talking about it, its called a vtr 346, but they said that a copy of the title and the form wouldnt be enough. I talked to the owner of the car now, the 2nd buyer, and he said he would go to court with me and transfer the title to his name, he said a 130U form would fix everything. Anyone familiar with this form?

All of the forms are here:
http://www.dot.state.tx.us/forms/vehicle_titles.htm
Tell the new owner that he's also responsible for the fines or you'll take him to small claims court.
