I read the faq saying only 98-00 fbodies have the egr, however, my good friend, who just ordered headers for his 2001 ss, claims and swears on his mothers buns that he has egr. Could he have an early 01 that came with it? thanks guys.

Do some more searching because I remember about a year ago there was a few guys on this forum who had an 01 F-body with ls1 intake and EGR. If I remember correctly all of them where build within the first month as an 2001 production model. I think they were built Aug. of 2000.

slim to NO chance at all. however, what if the previous owner was an idiot and bought another ls6 intake, but with the EGR provision?

i took the engine out of 2001 SS car, it had no EGR

tell him to **** on his motor if he thinks he has an "external" egr on his '01 SS

It could have it, its to the left and above the optispark!

01-02 Don't have EGR like others already mentioned.

he is right, I was lucky enough(joke) to get one of these 01's. it is pretty cool, I even had to get hp tuner for a 2000. picking up my sarcasm? Officially I was told that there was roughly 2200 of these cars most were 2000 retitles and they used the aug production date.
