Question Concerning O2 Sims

Hey fellaz:

I've owned my Z28 M6 for almost 3 months now, and as I prepare for my first mods, I always see mentioning of O2 sims when it comes to cat-backs and headers, etc. My question is, what the hell are they for? Something to fool the ECM? Something to prevent the throwing of codes? Fill me in here, guys

They make the pcm read that the rear O2's are functioning correctly even though they are disconnected. You only need these when doing longtube headers.

Also...if you ever need to replace an O2 sensor...you might save a little dough by getting a good deal on some sims.
