Default Good Ls1 Modding advice........

I want to pick up an 00-02 Ls1 M6 (pref an SS or Ws6 T/A) and im trying to price out mods, i would like to see 400rwhp N/A

so far i figured on a full SLP exhaust (Lt's catless Y and LMII's) SLP lid and an intake manifold (if i get a '00 without the LS6 manifold), next i figured i would do heads and cam. Can someone point me in the right direction here as far as heads and the cam go? a friend suggested the T-Rex but it seems a bit too aggressive for the street. Any other suggestions as far as exhaust are also appreciated.

I'VE heard alot of bad stuff on SLP LT's. I hear they have hang way to low. If you want stainless go with QTP, KOOKS or ARH. Personally i think i'm gonna go with QTP's. with a catless y pipe and LM exhaust you will get alot of rasp. Some like it some dont.

You will get a lot of good, and different advice here on the site- an infinite amount! If you are looking for a performance parts dealer, try Thunder Racing. They have been super nice everytime I have called them!

to get to 400rwhp your going to need some sort of power adder on top of bolt ons. Your right with the full exhaust, LS6 or better intake, ported TB, lid.... You will either need N20, or a cam to put you above 400 though. There are plenty of bolt on, cam cars in the 400 plus range with out touching the heads. You will ned to beef up the valve springs to compensate for the cam though.

You could just do full boltons and a cam and make 400rwhp if that's what you're looking for. Save ya money too. Shoot, a 224 cam would get you 400rwhp with boltons and a tune...

I pretty much agree.

However, one thing to consider is that if you get a really good set of LTs, coated, you will be in a better position to hit 400WHP with the stock heads.

I dont know what sort of altatude you are at and what DAs the track and dyno see, but I'm sure plenty of cars have hit 400WHP or more with a set of LG long tubes and a G5X3 cam. If you are not there, go for the electric WP and such.

400WHP with heads and cam is old news now. A good heads and cam package with proper support mods should me mid-400s on a real bump stick.

You dont need heads to hit 400WHP. Take that grand saved (at the very least) and invest it in quality bolt-ons. That and save it for breaking the pumpkin or on the tires you will be replacing

I made 390 with the cam I have right meow.

It's a very tame cam and I have absolutely no driveability issues. You just need to make sure you get a tune. The only other mods that I have to get to this number is JetHot long tube headers, hooker cat-back, and underdrive pulley. I feel confident that with a ported and polished throttle body, bigger injectors, and a re-tune that I could hit 400 to the wheels.

Good luck
