The temp is gona be different depending on where you measure. Hottest being right out of the exhaust port. It also depends when you measure it (warm at idle, or right after a track pass)

haha yeah it should leave a cool scar.

Well today i drove about 20min, but and went up to about 3.5k rpm a couple of times. The hottest spot was 308 degrees right off the head, the collector was around 230 to 250. I think it really depends on how long you drive and how many rpm you go to. In the next week ill drive for an hour than do some Wide open throttle runs and check the temps.

also the my slp intake was 125 degrees and the intake manifold was 150. let me know if you want me to take the temps of something else.

thats a little lower temp than I thought...but then again..if it was 4-500 degrees..it would melt most things..[including your hand]

Can you take the temp reading under radiator (where FTRA or SSRA sucks air). I know it gets hot over there I never really knew how hot compare to the engine bay area.

If someone reminds me I will gun mine after I get off the interstate this Friday. My bet is 800 degrees F.

My FWD car is 600 something on the heatshield with a cast manifold.

I tried to measure it with my IR temp gun and it read Err so it was over 650*F. My guess is 800+ easily even more if you are royally hard on the car because I've seen many a header glow red hot.

The hottest tube we have at idle is the #8 and it hits 305 deg. I imagine at WOT things get a bit warmer, but I have no realistic way to measure that.

I see you have stainless; I wonder what kind of difference coated headers would make....?
