Default 94 3.4L gas gauge help.

I was curious to see if anyones elses 3.4L Camaro has a gas gauge that does not work too good. It seems like once the car is at about 1/2 tank, according to the gauge, It seems to go through gas quicker. Someone said that their 93 3.4L camaro did the same thing also, But I asked people that had the 3.8L engines, and they said it doesnt happen for them. How do you fix this, Because I know that there is definately something wrong with it. Just curious to see if this is a problem for anyone else. And by the way, I Get awesome gas milage when its above 1/2 tank too.

I used to have a 95 and it did the same thing, and while it is true the sending units do often allow the gauge to float a bit, the tank is not a perfect square, the top half of the tank is bigger which is why when you get to the half way mark if seems to run out faster because the bottom is smaller. I used to just set the trip odo and watch mileage instead of the gauge.

My 94 Z28 did the same thing... as does just about every other fbody from that era. It's annoying as hell sometimes, but it's all in the design... you'll just have to live with it.

I've had 2 f-bodies from that era (V6 and V8) and both did it. Just watch the trip odo and life will be good.

On average, about how many miles should a 3.4L V6 get per tank??
