Throttle body shines more then water pump

Throttle body shines more then water pump I'm doing some polishing and the throttle body came out just like chrome while my water pump looks nice but just not as shiny as the tb. I used the same process on both of them. The water pump kinda looks like hazy chrome that needs cleaned. I've polished and buffed and it doesn't seem to get any better. Any ideas? I notice the metal seems to be a little bit differant composition on the two pieces also. Does that have anything to do with it?
