Default Cage is done........new pics

Got it back firday night. I still have to get the passenger seat and harness's in. The handles MUCH better now that the front and rear are tied together. In corners that I would normally have to lift off the throttle in, I can now get IN the throttle going through them. The added weight has thrown off my rebound dampening though. Under throttle if I hit a rise in the road the rear end likes to get REALLY light. Time for new shocks. The seats are pretty darn comfy to!

I am guessing around 100-125lbs of added weight now. But it is chrome molly so it is lighter than the mild steel.

As for getting in, well I am glad I am only 5ft 7 and 150lbs wet, with rocks in my pockets. Being a bit flexable helps to. My buddy that is a hair taller than I am but weighs around 170-180 had a REAL hard time getting in and out of it.

Thats a pretty involved cage, I would sure feel safe in a crash...

I think hes shooting more towards the road racing than towards the drag racing

Boyce,

You are hard core (and for good reason), man that makes my cage look like tooth picks. I would feel pretty safe wraped in that, great craftsmanship. I give you tons of credit for your work and drive to race, kudos my friend.

I am pretty bumed now, I changed oil last week and found oil leaking from the area near the oil filter. Less than 6k miles & not much rough driving. It is in the hands of Sean at Roy Roberson Chevrolet. Sean has extensive experience on SS's, pulled motors, rebuilt the engines, and just put a supercharger on a new vette with nitrous, (650rwhp & spinning the tires on the dyno). So far they are pulling the intake and looking behind the block to see what is up.

I went to a dyno pull and the oil was hitting the collector on the header and smoking, not a good seen. They are going to work with me on using the warranty, can you believe it, a little good luck. I convienced them I do not beat on the car and the miles are low, which they can see. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope nothing serious is wrong and they work with me covering the repair.

You take car. Hope to see your car someday. Todd

Until I get a fuel cell and an on board fire system I will ot be allowed to exceed 165mph, even though the car could do it with out trying to hard. But for the first couple runs, 165mph will be plenty fast.

Todd,
Sorry to hear about the car. If there is ANYTHING I can do to help you with it, please let me know. From the sounds of it the leak might be coming from the seal around the filter or maybe even a cracked pressure sender behind the intake. I cant think of anything that would make a leak like you describe other than those things or a bad seal at the oil pan.

I would like more than anything to come over and help you Fri but I have kid patrol while my wife works. I am dying to see your car. Thanks again for the kind words, I was really bummed out.

You need to cruise your car up to BK/Taco Time in Lynnwood, folks will flp out seeing it.
